Part 2 of our NL trip and Le Bateau

Working windmill and cows as always And another one Traditional wooden house in Marken We have a small map of the entire Netherlands system of waterways in which we have tried to roughly record (with coloured pencil) the trips we have done in our two dutch yachts. The map is now almost a maze of dashed lines across the Markermeer and the Ijsselmeer. When you include Friesland and down through Amsterdam to The Hague we have seen a fair slice of the Netherlands. A small 2 stroke "non car" for small people! In a farm house museum in Friesland Kerry and Jenny joined us in Leeuwarden, Friesland in late July for three weeks. Friesland is a province of the Netherlands famous for its dairy cattle, beautiful black horses, hunting dogs (sort of like a big curly coated spaniel), creamy advocaat liqueur and fantastic looking huge roofed farmhouses/barns....most of the land is below sea level and behind dykes of all ages.
